Overwatch 2 and Diablo 4 postponed to 2023:

So, Activision Blizzard officially announces the postponement of two of its most anticipated titles, Overwatch 2 and Diablo 4, to 2023, after they were scheduled to be released next year 2022.

This announcement came during the investor session for the third quarter of the current fiscal year 2021 (quoting from VGC), where it was confirmed that the two titles had been postponed in order to allow more time for developers to work on them, including post-launch content so as to ensure the two games continued support with the best quality for several years to come.

"These are two of the most eagerly awaited titles in the video game industry and our teams have taken huge strides toward completing them in the last quarter. But we believe giving these teams some extra time to complete production and continue to grow their creative resources to support titles after launch will ensure that these releases succeed and please their communities for many years to come."

According to the statements of Chief Financial Officer Armin Zerza, who said that although the release of these titles, as scheduled for next year 2022, would have paid the financial returns of the company, they preferred to postpone the launch of Overwatch 2 and Diablo 4 in order to satisfy the public and their aspirations for what they expect from these titles and to complete the great success that it has achieved. The previous parts will be extended with the release of these new parts.

Zarza concluded by saying that the team working on these titles has a lot to work on in order to thrive in what they will offer us, adding that he is eager to see what new content and creative ideas these teams have that will be revealed during the next year 2022.

It is reported that Activision Blizzard was planning to release both Overwatch 2 and Diablo 4 during the next year 2022.
